I Would Love to Be Forgotten Songtext

I grew up thinking when I got old I′d live for a family,
Just like the way my mother and father gave everything to me.

And who was I to ever wonder why, I took a love and gave a try,
I put my whole heart in it.
And who could ever be the same after such a big change,
I don't think that I was made for it.
So, I moved on.

After some time spent on my own, a longing took a hold of my days.
And if who I was now was who I′d become, then I needed to change something.
So I decided I would reapply my mind to do the same thing I'd just done away with.
Because to live alone with only you and your desires
just isn't what makes me feel like who I am.

So, I decided that I would love to be forgotten,
walk away from every little thing that you think that you′re wanting,
because a feeling kept within yourself will bring you no where else
but by your lonesome self every time.

I know not every person out there can live by the same decree
And lovers and family aren′t necessarily what every person needs.
But, take yourself and put it somewhere else,
I promise that you won't be let down once some time passes.
′Cause watch to find how when you give your time
even to friends or pets or just a silly rhyme what will happen with it

and why suddenly I would love to be forgotten,
walk away from everything that I think that I am wanting,
because a feeling kept within yourself will bring you no where else
but by your lonesome self all of the time.
