Memphis Women & Chicken Songtext

Memphis Women & Chicken Songtext
Well I′m heading into Memphis, Memphis Tennessee
It's the one place in this world I can get something good to eat
I′m hungry for some loving and some fried chicken
That goes down greasy and is finger licking
I know just where to go there's a woman I know
She shakes it up right and lets it simmer real slow
Memphis women and fried chicken
Memphis women and chicken
Over on Union there's good old gal
She can smoke a pig and fry some fowl
She got biscuits in her oven, cornbread in the pan
I get by to see her every chance I can
I catch a whiff when I turn the corner
My mouth starts to water and I′m a goner
For that Memphis women and fried chicken
Memphis women and chicken
Well, I get my old guitar and I go down to Beale
Play some good blues, get a real good meal
Now I don′t care if whiskey hits my lips
Long as I get a taste of them barbecue ribs
There's a woman up on the bluff
Makes her living making pie
Got chocolate covered fingers
Dark blueberry eyes
Got that light powdered sugar sprinkled in her hair
Her apple turnover is beyond compare
When it′s hot, late, and sticky and you want
Something cool and sweet
She keeps the handle cranking on that homemade ice cream
Memphis women and fried chicken
Memphis women and chicken
Memphis women and fried chicken
Memphis women and chicken

Memphis women and fried chicken
Memphis women and chicken
