He dreamed that he found a looking glass
Through which he could view his time
The past and the present lay open to him
To survey the expanse of his life

So he followed the pictures that led to the past
′Til he looked on himself as a child
His features were stark and his future was grim
Yet still on occasion he smiled


But the child that exists is extant over time
And into the present is drawn
The mark on the child is the fate of the man
Though the life of the man lingers on

And the pain now known to him
Reflects from the mirror both out and in
A prescience he cannot ignore
On the walkway that leads to death's door

He dreamed of a man with a looking glass
