By my demons

Pulling me, trying to take me under
I can't give in, I must resist

Most days I can hide it
These weathered eyes
Have seen so much
The more I struggle
The tighter the noose becomes
The heavier the chain
Around my feet

I long for a glimpse
Of what peace could be like
