Floor String Songtext

Floor String Songtext
My bones are breaking as I tie myself together
With a piece of a string that I found on my bedroom floor
My ears are burning as these soft words were spoken
Miles away but they made it to my front door
So I run to hide atop of the tallest tree
I use the sticks and the leaves to build these walls that surround me
I lost myself among the branches of the trees
Tried to make myself a home with the birds and the wild honeybees
They looked at me and they said you′re no son of mine
So I ran deeper and met a girl on the forest floor
Whose neck and arms were covered in vines
That seemed to move when she breathed the air
She said I've been here since the earth awoke
There was an innocence in her smile
But she had wisdom in her stare
I said no I don′t come from a hollow home
But lately I have felt, I've felt so alone
She said if I was moss on a rock
I'd grow in your direction
Be your protection
But in your pain you start to grow
And in that growth, you find a home
