Blood symbolizes pain, blood is royalty
Blood is the language of the slain
Blood is strength, the essence of the living
And from the dying, it escapes

Untold is the power that resides in the ichor of the flesh
Open veins reveal the treasure of the ritual
Pure energy released the trail that leads the hunter to its prey
And the wounded beast, the courage to fight or to escape

Blood is ascendancy
And the color of defeat
Blood is the dusk and is the dawn
Bread for the earth to feast upon


Rolling, a crimson streak remains motionless
Body slowly drains unconscious
Vitality now wanes, liquid life muddies the dust
And the light in the eyes now fades

Praying for purification, a cleansing of all impurities
Striving for invigoration, perfection of pedigree
Feeling the heavy ache of a heart that bleeds
Or seeing red with an urge to kill a hated enemy

Blood is ascendancy
And a messenger of grief

Fresh for the wolves to wet their maws
