Waking up at dawn I found a new sun
Had risen up above the other one
That shone in the shade
Of the cloud we had made
To shelter our skins from everything

How the noon tide rolls on in the rage of the sun
Is only a stone′s throw from the damage we had won


Waking up at night I found a new light
Had dreamed itself into the sky
& this fullness of night
Was a dark & powerful might
That shook the earth off of our eyes

& the damage we had won was spread out like a storm
That only holds the calm before the ice
