Lost Years Songtext
Dwayne was nineteen
When things have begun
He was a dreamer and had lots of fun
He wanted to be a rock′n roll star
Singing and playing a mean guitar
Dwayne took a paper one friday in may
He read the headline twice on that day
Accused of a crime he never had done
Not believing his eyes - starred into the sun
Lost years
A nightmare became true
Unguilty in prison
Dwayne had no clue
Terrified and lonely he almost got mad
Not having his son around
That was very sad
He went to the cops to clear the things up
Dwayne was innocent, no reason to doubt
Did not realize that all got that bad
Before he was twenty his life turned so sad
Dwayne got into the jail
Nothing done wrong like many others
Some even lifelong
No compensation by the govermment
Just tears in the end
When things have begun
He was a dreamer and had lots of fun
He wanted to be a rock′n roll star
Singing and playing a mean guitar
Dwayne took a paper one friday in may
He read the headline twice on that day
Accused of a crime he never had done
Not believing his eyes - starred into the sun
Lost years
A nightmare became true
Unguilty in prison
Dwayne had no clue
Terrified and lonely he almost got mad
Not having his son around
That was very sad
He went to the cops to clear the things up
Dwayne was innocent, no reason to doubt
Did not realize that all got that bad
Before he was twenty his life turned so sad
Dwayne got into the jail
Nothing done wrong like many others
Some even lifelong
No compensation by the govermment
Just tears in the end
