My People Songtext
von Charlie Peacock
My People Songtext
My people come from Oklahoma
On my mother′s side
Who is it I know on my father's side
They are hard-working people
CHORUS
Each generation is a little better-off
Than the one before
In the things of the world only
In the matters of the heart and soul
Some I could tell you
Others though I wouldn′t know
My people had to toss and tumble
Almost everyone
No single one of us were tried and true
That was my observation
REPEAT CHORUS
(I don't know about my people
Where they stand and where they fall)
On my mother′s side
Who is it I know on my father's side
They are hard-working people
CHORUS
Each generation is a little better-off
Than the one before
In the things of the world only
In the matters of the heart and soul
Some I could tell you
Others though I wouldn′t know
My people had to toss and tumble
Almost everyone
No single one of us were tried and true
That was my observation
REPEAT CHORUS
(I don't know about my people
Where they stand and where they fall)
