He took a rock from the bottom of my ocean
Wrote his name, then threw that rock back to the waves
The tide comes in and the tide goes out again

I took the liberty of walking up his river
Up through the silt and fell asleep on your bed

When I open up my eyes, mid-tide is turning
East wind and fish at Carreg Ddu
My mind hell-bent on those who drowned there
I was glad to think somehow they set us free

So, take a walk from the first storm to the last storm
Laugh and the locksmith and throw away the key
The tide comes in and the tide goes out again

Any mind, doesn′t miss me, but I didn't miss a beat
So I walked through the storm and wandered along the beach
′Til the sun comes up and the sun goes down again
