Those Times Songtext

Those Times Songtext

There was a time when the plains were high as the heavens
And the people could all see
When the only light was a spark turned to flame
And the fire was set free
There was a time when the wolves would howl
In the dead of night when no one was left to sing
In the winter′s cold when the birds would fly
All around flutter all their wings

But those times are gone
They're lost in the wind
So, what went wrong?
We started caring too much about the sin
So, what was left was
Memories that were faded in the end
′Cause there was a time
When the human light it truly shined on in

There was a time when the dirt roads were not paved
And not so complicated
When we'd drive all night under the stars
And the sky wasn't nearly as faded
There was a time when we′d close our eyes
Disconnect and sit by the water
When the only thing that crossed our minds was living well
And not for the dollar

But those times are gone
They′re lost in the wind
So, what went wrong?
We started caring too much about the sin
So, what was left was
Memories that were faded in the end
'Cause there was a time
When the human light it truly shined on in
