Clowns Are Crying Songtext

Small children standing in front of me
They don′t know, the world will not forever be
Chocolate cakes and dinosaurs
Sandboxes and rainbows

Their parents pay me to see them laugh
And are impatient to take a photograph
To show them twenty years later
When they've learned about love and hate

Sometimes even clowns, sometimes even
Clowns are crying
Behind an armour of jokes and rhymes
Looking at the moon, looking at the moonlight
On the river
The sight is sweet but the taste is bitter

I provide childhood memories
That are light and warm like a summer breeze
That will brighten up the roads they take
When their lives seem rainy every day

That′s life, that's how it's meant to be
We start as birds, then forget how to be free
But we won′t forget how it used to be
And laugh, and laugh until we feel free again

Sometimes even clowns, sometimes even
Clowns are crying
Behind an armour of jokes and rhymes
Looking at the moon, looking at the moonlight
On the river
The sight is sweet and the taste ain′t bitter
