The sky′s already dark
But his day is far from over
He notices a line of patients snaking down the hall

He fights a deep fatigue
Stethoscope over his shoulder
And wonders how he'll ever treat them all

But something goes unnoticed
As it isn′t seen or heard
As he goes about his work
He's whispering quiet words

Please G-d can You ensure
That I stay noble to my task
And those who seek my aid should find
The pain they bear fades to the past
The knowledge I impart
Should be based on truth alone
And will You help me show respect
To each of Your creations
As if they were my own


The sun has barely risen
Yet a page comes from her phone
Expertly she stitches wounds and patches hurting souls

She pauses in a corner
Needs a small moment alone
A view so close to pain can take its toll
