October Songtext

October Songtext
When I think of you, it′s from memory
When you think of me, are you smiling?
It does not expire, not even when I sleep
But like the color of October, it's not mine to keep
How would I know it would end before we still had a lifetime to go?
Someday we′ll be looking back and laughing, I hope
Judging by the lines in my hands
But what do I know? Nothing 'bout the future
But to leave room to grow
All these lessons learned by staring out my window
Imagining a heart as soft as sand
At the beginning of my fever dream
I had forgotten why I was smiling
How would I know it would end before we still had a lifetime to go?
Someday we'll be looking back and laughing, I hope
Judging by the lines in my hands
But what do I know? Nothing ′bout the future
But to leave room to grow
All these lessons learned by staring out my window
Imagining a heart as soft as sand
When you think of me, are you smiling?
It does not expire, not even when I sleep
But like the color of October, it's not mine to keep
How would I know it would end before we still had a lifetime to go?
Someday we′ll be looking back and laughing, I hope
Judging by the lines in my hands
But what do I know? Nothing 'bout the future
But to leave room to grow
All these lessons learned by staring out my window
Imagining a heart as soft as sand
At the beginning of my fever dream
I had forgotten why I was smiling
How would I know it would end before we still had a lifetime to go?
Someday we'll be looking back and laughing, I hope
Judging by the lines in my hands
But what do I know? Nothing ′bout the future
But to leave room to grow
All these lessons learned by staring out my window
Imagining a heart as soft as sand
