Parade Songtext

Listen up to some wisdom - I′ve gathered over the years
While you might be scheming, the universe is hatching plans to interfere

So start making peace with the disappointments

There's the thing you want to happen and then the thing that awaits you
You can anticipate the future or learn to be at peace with the present view

The good news is - it only takes the rest of your life - don′t put up a fight

And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade
And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade

Jesus hung with sinners - now-a-days that's a sin
Can't be seen with the devils ′cuz heaven′s deciding whether or not to let you in

You could try to save them - but might it up for yourself

The cross hairs of affection - can bring a lover into sight
Until they're close enough to tell you that they′ve got other plans tonight
And tomorrow night and every night after that
Yeah... they ain't comin′ back

And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade
And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade

I wish you would - I wish you would - I wish you would
Would have told me sooner

I wish you would - I wish you would - I wish you would
Wouldn't have told me at all

Rain, rain go away - come again... some other day...

She can stop your breathe and heartbeat with one brush of her hair
She might seem like your Aphrodite and you launch all the ships but to your despair

Every king and peasant has known this heartbreak - this kind of ache

Once we′re born we begin forgetting - all the little miracles
Its educated out of us - the memories fade we danced with the angels

We can only hope for something to remind us soon - we linger in bloom

And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade
And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade

And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade
And it rains... oh, oh it rains on your parade
