We live on planet Earth
Our closest star′s the Sun
The Moon is our satellite

The Earth spins 'round and ′round
And spins around the Sun
That's how we get day and night

In the day, the Sun shines bright
But it doesn't really leave at night
We just turned and looked the other way

We′ll come around again

We go around the Sun
We′re not the only ones
There are lots of planets above


They're also circling
We′re like a family
It's called a solar system

Mercury and Venus, Earth and Mars
Jupiter and Saturn, both very large
Uranus and Neptune, and even little Pluto too

That′s from our point of view

There is a band of lights
That goes from left to right
Now listen close what I say

It may look separate
But we're a part of it
We call it the Milky Way

The Milky Way is filled with stars
And lots of solar systems, some like ours
So it′s not a candy bar, you see?

It's called a galaxy

It's called a galaxy
