underneath the pillows Songtext

underneath the pillows Songtext
I heard you scream
Everyone you know is starting to settle down
A tainted bloodstream
I just want to hear about the life you′ve found
You told me last night in your dream
That I made you a promise I would hang around
I didn't know what awful was ′til you left town
I didn't know what awful was 'til you left town
I could′ve sworn as you rose
Your obituary was written in prose
I′d never seen your father cry
I don't see him anymore, I wonder why
How could I tell your mother that
The second that I left was when they called me back
If I had to
Come home I would need you
I ask myself if I killed you
If I could think about it, I wouldn′t want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn't want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn′t want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn't want to
If I had to
I wouldn′t want to
Everyone you know is starting to settle down
A tainted bloodstream
I just want to hear about the life you′ve found
You told me last night in your dream
That I made you a promise I would hang around
I didn't know what awful was ′til you left town
I didn't know what awful was 'til you left town
I could′ve sworn as you rose
Your obituary was written in prose
I′d never seen your father cry
I don't see him anymore, I wonder why
How could I tell your mother that
The second that I left was when they called me back
If I had to
Come home I would need you
I ask myself if I killed you
If I could think about it, I wouldn′t want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn't want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn′t want to
If I had to kill you
I guess I would but I wouldn't want to
If I had to
I wouldn′t want to
