I watch the gulls take nose dives
As I sit and wait for this to end
What is this, only watching?
How I long to follow them in flight

In flight


The sea is rolling forward
Back again, the birds they follow suit
The cold and mystic waters draw them in
And spit them out again

Falling
They′re falling

Keep your eyes open
Farther out to sea they're calling, beckoning
They′re twisting, flying higher
Plunging deep and falling back again
