The needles are dropping, the christmas tree′s brittle
It's been up since thanksgiving week
What was celebrating
Now feels like waiting
To break out the vacuum and clean

The stores and the restaurants are open again
Already undecorated
Return all those gifts
And the clothes that don′t fit
And the ones that did but you hated

So here's to the day that was left all alone

It's too early to sing auld lang syne and to drink
And make resolutions that you′ll never keep
A moment of silence for what′s left on your list

But there′s still one more week to get through
