The Preacher Songtext

The Preacher Songtext

So we were the kids growing up without a guide,
Sitting with the TV on conidering suicide,
And I interpret Bob′s telling us that God's,
No longer on our side.
Well who is he and who am I to tell you anything,
All I want is a girl to say "I′ll wear your ring".
Yeah I know what hell is, a place without Elvis,
And the voice with which he sings.

The simplicity of the pen and the paper
Can make the world follow like a tune played by the pied piper.

Now we batter up, gonna play with your head
We batter up to play with your head,
Reevaluate all the things that you've read
We batter up to play with your head.

Dreamers do what they're always done,
And this night has only just begun,
With the inflicted pain, by our hero Wayne,
They say he′s first with his gun.
We changed the world or ourselves at least
But we never proclaimed to be high-priests.
We sacrificed, our own lives,
And we′re the only ones who seem pleased.
