Fair Weather Friends Songtext

Fair Weather Friends Songtext

Thieves in the building
I′d make a killing
Just to save the merry-go-round
You're tired of believing
You′re sick of leading
Promises made on a broken crown
I've got a meaning
Old fashioned leaning
And I'm gonna be loud

Fair weather friends on the fence
And they′re fashioning walls of a jail they can′t leave
Fair weather tents hold the rain
And I'm praying that they come down over me

Keys to the building
I′d take a killing
Just to save your life
I'm tired of believing
I′m sick of keeping
Promises made on a broken crown
You've got a meaning
You′re worth loving and
You're gonna be proud

Farewell to friends on the fence
And we're fashioning walls of a jail we can′t leave
Fair weather tents hold the rain
And I′m praying that they come down over me

So say what you will about your fair weather friends
(They understand where the road ends)
Wishing I could say the same for those sickly leading
(Who destroy the merry-go-round)
Breaking crowns, they march all over town
Policing sounds, they're watching you

Yeah, I just don′t know

Fair weather friends on the fence
And we're putting up walls that we can′t even see
Fair weather tents hold the rain
And I'm praying that you wash down over me

So say what you will about your fair weather friends
(They understand where the road ends)
Wishing I could say the same for those sickly leading
(Who destroy the merry-go-round)
Breaking crowns, they march all over town
Policing sounds, they′re watching you
