I Mourn These Yellow Leaves Songtext
I breathe in these tattered woes
The autumn scent of a thousand scattered souls
Painted memories, I trace the lines of etched in scars
Faded memories and jaded hearts
I mourn their time here and their harvest arrival
The gathered bundles in the coming winds
Their time here is through
Into the flames to be consumed
The colours change, the light becomes the dark
Sun-washed now fades to a yellow hue
Much like time has come for them
With handfuls of earth, I gather the leaves
Despite the fertile soil below
These leaves have no means for life
They can only be how they were designed
A blanket to the dampened ground
A safe place to insects and bones
They can only be how they were designed
A veil to the earth below
A veil to the earth below
A veil to the earth below
A veil to the earth below
I breathe these tattered woes
The autumn scent of a thousand scattered souls
Painted memories, I trace the lines of etched in scars
Faded memories and jaded hearts
I mourn their time here and harvest arrival
The gathered bundles in the coming winds
Their time here is through
Into the flames to be consumed
I breathe in these tattered woes
The autumn scent of a thousand scattered souls
Painted memories, I trace the lines of etched in scars
Faded memories and jaded hearts
The fires are lit, night is now drawing in
We′ve settled down to try and warm ourselves
Everything is dying now, only to be reborn again
But now we must wait, the seasons can't be rushed
They flutter down like angels who′ve lost their wings
Does that mean that the hell is the ground on which we are standing?
The colours change, the light becomes the dark
Sun-washed now fades to a yellow hue
Much like time has become for them
With handfuls of earth, I gather the leaves
The autumn scent of a thousand scattered souls
Painted memories, I trace the lines of etched in scars
Faded memories and jaded hearts
I mourn their time here and their harvest arrival
The gathered bundles in the coming winds
Their time here is through
Into the flames to be consumed
The colours change, the light becomes the dark
Sun-washed now fades to a yellow hue

A veil to the earth below
A veil to the earth below
A veil to the earth below
