Maybe Next Year Songtext
von Jenny Owen Youngs
Maybe Next Year Songtext
When I was a kid it was boxes and bows
Crossing my fingers and wishing for snow
Honestly I don′t know where the time goes
Cut down an evergreen, brought it inside
Made it a Christmas tree, strung all the lights
Popcorn and cranberries, friends and our family
Gold in the glow of the fire
Haven't seen you in a while
Hope you′re alright
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Easy to let you go most of the time
The ache in my chest has been slipping my mind
See on the screen it's a wonderful life
And I guess that it's not all black and white
Keeps getting gray ′til the day that we die
Friends and our family ask about you and me
How can I tell them that I
Haven′t seen you in a while
Hope you're alright
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Wish you were here
Crossing my fingers and wishing for snow
Honestly I don′t know where the time goes
Cut down an evergreen, brought it inside
Made it a Christmas tree, strung all the lights
Popcorn and cranberries, friends and our family
Gold in the glow of the fire
Haven't seen you in a while
Hope you′re alright
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Easy to let you go most of the time
The ache in my chest has been slipping my mind
See on the screen it's a wonderful life
And I guess that it's not all black and white
Keeps getting gray ′til the day that we die
Friends and our family ask about you and me
How can I tell them that I
Haven′t seen you in a while
Hope you're alright
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Maybe next year
Wish you were here
Wish you were here
