Color (Commentary) Songtext

Color (Commentary) Songtext
This next song just made me smile, it′s called, "Color"
And I just loved it because to me it's like finding the one who anchors you
But still allows you to be yourself
So talk to me about "Color"
I′m a tourist, which means I'm very stubborn
And I was never the girl growing up and still to this day I'm not
The girl that dreamt of the white dress and the picket fence and the family life
Yeah, there′s nothing wrong with that at all
It was just, I was a little bit feistier and wilder
And had this, this dream of of chasing country music and I think that
Because I′m a tourist and because of that
It's very hard for me to admit when I fall in love
And this is kind of the song where it′s like
Alright, he knew, he was crazy enough to stick around
And let me figure out all my stuff and at the end of the day
I don't care where you wanna go
Whether it is being married and settling down at whatever age or chasing a dream
At the end of the day we all need love
And we all need that person to kind of balance us out
And I think that, you know, in this song I say, "You be the lines I′ll be the color"
But I think it flip flops, because
You need to find that person that just really is undeniably your person
Yeah, well, and, uh, just to get a little personal, I mean
You've been fairly open about the fact that you′re in a relationship
I've seen some pictures on Instagram
Was there any true story in, in this song for you?
Oh, for sure, he, it's funny just because when he met me I was very, uhm
Just not looking for a relationship at all
Especially coming off of the relationship that I had and
It was very much for about a year
Just kinda casually wanting to hang out
And he knew that I cared more than I think even I did at the time
And stuck it out so I was kind of like, dang it
I′ll wait ′til you come to your senses and figure it out
Right, right, so now I'm like alright you win
That′s kind of what it, you know the first line is I give up
Uh, yeah, I love it
